June Event Weekend
Event Weekend: 30 June & 1 July
The second Biennial weekend, in contrast to the first, was damp and grey - but a programme of events and tours helped lift the spirits as the sun made its occasional appearances!
Saturday saw our first collaboration with a-n. A tour and networking event for artists and curators, AIR Salon brought the Biennial curators and artist Hillary Jack, Clarissa Corfe from Castlefield Gallery, Lorenzo Fusi from Liverpool Biennial, Carmel Clapson from Cheshire West and Chester and representatives from a-n's artist advisory service into conversation with artists - with advice, names and cards swapped at a rapid rate!
On Sunday, the Curators' tour of the Biennial was followed by aviation historian Jim Rait's tour of the Park. Jim discussed Maurice Egerton's place in the history of flight (he received the 11th pilot's license in the UK), his runway and planes and Tatton's place in World War II (Tatton hosted nearly 400,000 parachute jumps using dirigibles and planes during the war).
